Providing therapy that is supportive, understanding, comfortable, and safe is my top priority. I do this by building our therapeutic relationship from a place of compassion and acceptance. I also want to aid in normalizing and validating your thoughts, feelings, and experiences. We can hold a lot of shame and confusion regarding these parts of ourselves. I want to help you reclaim your healing journey by reducing stigmas around mental health and providing tools to empower you.
I find it extremely important to establish a sense of safety and support for you to express yourself. I’m a person-centered therapist, meaning I approach counseling as a collaborative process with you being the expert on your life and experiences. From the start of our work together, I want to ensure you are empowered and in control of your treatment.
I believe our feelings, thoughts, and beliefs all interact and affect our behaviors. In addition, I firmly believe that by exploring and processing our traumas and wounds from the root, we can create lasting change and relief.
I use Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Internal Family Systems (IFS), Rational Emotive Behavior Therapy (REBT), guided imagery, imagination, and mindfulness in my sessions. In my experience, these modalities allow clients to better process traumas and expand self-awareness in more effective, healing, and lasting ways.
